What happens to my data if I delete the app?

Deleting the app also deletes the data on your device. Your data still exists on the developer’s server temporarily for legal reasons, though it is later removed.

What if my phone is lost or stolen?

Don’t worry—we got you! Once you get a new phone and sim card, simply reinstall the conata app and voilà —your address book is synchronized with your network’s latest contact data. We recommend you protect your phone with a PIN code for your own safety.

What does end-to-end encryption mean?

Privacy and security are in our DNA. End-to-end encryption is like a digital lock that prevents anyone but the intended recipient from seeing a data transmission. This ensures your data never falls into the wrong hands.

How long does the local address book syncing process take?

Once you’re connected to the internet, syncing usually only takes a few seconds, depending on the number of data entries.

Will this app work on my older phone?

Your device will need to operate on iOS11 or Android 7.0 or later to use conata.

Is my information backed up?

Yes, your information is backed up with the highest and latest security standards. Data stored on Swiss soil is safeguarded by the Swiss Federal Data Protection Act (DPA) and the Swiss Federal Data Protection Ordinance (DPO). We operate according to ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 9001, ISO/IEC 5001, PCI DSS certifications and FINMA-RS 18/3 compliance standards.

Why is the data being stored in Switzerland?

Switzerland has a reputation for neutrality, quality, and stability, making it one of the top countries for storing physical and digital data for companies around the world. The country has seized the opportunity and is focusing on the protection of data stored in Swiss server farms. All data stored on Swiss soil is safeguarded by the Swiss Federal Data Protection Act (DPA) and the Swiss Federal Data Protection Ordinance (DPO).
